Word up – Snow


A few words about snow
When snow stays on the ground ‘It settles’ – as it has right now.
Snowy conditions – just as you can say ‘rainy’ conditions
– ‘we have snowy conditions today’.
‘A snow flurry’ is a short spell of snowfall, often occurring several times per day.
Snow with rain is ‘sleet’.
Heavy snowfall is a ‘blizzard’.
Fresh snow is great for ‘sledding’ – making a snowman and having a snowball fight.
Old, hardened snow and ice is of course dangerous.
When the temperature increases the snow melts and turns into ‘slush’.
