Word up – Skin


  • An underweight person is called ‘Skinny’ or ‘all skin and bones’.
  • Skinny dipping is swimming naked.
  • To be thick skinned is when you are not affected by criticism or negative commentary E.g. you have to be thick-skinned to be a politician.
  • To skin up is to roll a 🚬 cigarette with papers and tobacco.
  • It’s no skin off my nose – means – it doesn’t affect me; I don’t care.
  • To be soaked to the skin – very wet because of being out in the rain.
  • To jump out of your skin – be very frightened.
