
- 1. Something can be at a good level: high standard e.g. a hotel or at a poor level: low standard
- 2. We can also say ‘Bog standard’ – Basic and nothing fancy but, ok.
- 3. Double standards – e.g. Do what I say and not what I do – basically hypocrisy
- 4. You can exceed the standard – be better than what is expected
- 5. You can meet the standard – be good enough
- 6. Fall below the standard – be worse than expected
- 7. Predictable behaviour e.g. ‘Did Radek get drunk at the party?’ – ‘I’m afraid so’ – ‘That’s standard!’.
